"The Far North has a natural geothermal resource at Ngawha which enables electricity to be generated locally for consumers. Whilst Top Energy delivers power to the local community we are also focused on the environment, monitoring the geothermal field and surrounding environs. Our goal is to increase our generation portfolio to ensure the Far North is self- sufficient, providing a secure supply of electricity to attract industry to the region."
Les started his career with the Royal Air Force in the UK, serving at bases in Scotland. He then joined the nuclear generation industry and progressed steadily through the company. During his 18 year career within the nuclear industry Les gained a BEng (Hons) in Mechatronics, specialising in the power station industry.
Les has been a key member of the 20MW Ngawha expansion project, from initial ground works to the successful commissioning and operation of the plant.
Les immigrated to New Zealand with his wife, April and son, Jamie in 2006 and joined Top Energy in January 2007. Les enjoys the local area and discovering the local beaches, kayaking and golf.
